Mike McCarthy, an accounting systems consulting entrepreneur who sold his consulting company back in 1998. For the past 20 years, Mike has been providing financial and organizational consulting services for many non-profit animal service organizations, and is the Founder of Rescue Express, which is an initiative of MGM Animal Foundation that works with rescue groups to save the lives of homeless animals.
Rescue Express is “relocation as an alternative to euthanization." A transport service to help place homeless animals into loving homes. It's almost like a “secret operation” of people doing some really great things for animals that most don’t know about.

Born in Hartford, Connecticut, Mr. McCarthy obtained a bachelor’s degree in accounting and computer science in 1981 from the University of Southern New Hampshire. His personal interests include offshore performance boating, helicopter pilot, home building, animal welfare causes, and French architecture.
Mr. McCarthy was president and sole founder of S3G Inc. Founded in Austin Texas, in 1989, S3G provided ERP Software Project Management Services to Fortune 500 companies. McCarthy performed nearly every role in the company as it grew. S3G was the third place recipient of the Price Waterhouse “Austin’s Fifty Fastest Growing Companies Award” in 1995. Mr. McCarthy sold S3G to Data Processing Resources Corporation, a Newport Beach, CA company, in 1998 for approximately $70,000,000.00.
Mr. McCarthy was a board member of the Austin, Humane Society in 2001 for one year.
In 2003, Mr. McCarthy was a founder and partner in Emancipet, an Austin, TX, nonprofit animal organization that provided low cost Spay and Neuter Services to the Greater Austin area. He donated the Mobile Surgical Vehicle that was used by the organization. He was also a board of director member for 10 years. Approximately 50,000 animals were Spay/Neutered over the last 10 years.
Mr. McCarthy has provides financial and organizational consulting services for many Austin, TX based non-profit animal service organizations over the last decade.
In 2011 Mr. McCarthy established the “MGM Animal Trust” a Texas non profit Private Foundation. His entire estate will be donated to the foundation at his demise. The Foundation will provide grants to animal organizations who serve the greater need of animals.
In 2012 Mr. McCarthy’s “MGM Animal Trust” began distributing monetary grants to animal rescue organizations that provided high quality rescue animal services.
In 2013 MGM Animal Trust distributed $200,000 in grants to rescue animal organizations that demonstrated excellence in their animal rescue activities.
Early in 2014 Mr. McCarthy sold his residence in Austin, Texas and relocated to southern California with his 6 dogs.
