Showing up, especially showing up for yourself, and having integrity are two VERY IMPORTANT values that I hold closely when dealing with other people. It’s how I assess who they are at the very core.
Here’s an equation that I came up with:
consistency + courage to keep showing up = success & impact
In this episode, we discuss how showing up for YOU and how showing up for others around you is how you can make a REAL impact in this world.
The co-owners of Interview Connections, Jessica Rhodes and Margy Feldhuhn, join Natalie Viglione and the Disrupt Now Podcast special invite co-host for this one, Diane McDermott, in this episode that’s chock full of wisdom!
What we dive into:
- How a tumultuous journey can lead to opportunity
- Why showing up for yourself and others is how you create major impact
- How friendship drove Jessica and Margy to come together to create their business and help them learn to thrive as business partners
- Why becoming business owners requires personal development; doing soul work to do the greater work
- Why having “ride or die” loyalty can make or break a business
- How to be true to who you are while you sell
- Jessica and Margy’s advice for entrepreneurs as leading experts on how to leverage podcast guesting for increased brand awareness, more leads and higher profits
- And more!
So what is the meaning of “showing up?” How you show up at a basic level is when you make the self-investment to do the things in your own life that you say you’re going to do. It really is the foundation of self-love, and it’s how you can attend to your own physical, relational, social, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual needs. It’s how you show up to build self-respect, self-trust, and authenticity.
To show up for others means that a person does what they say they’re going to do, therefore creating trust in another human that is relying on them to do what they’ve said they’re going to do. It’s having integrity that when you speak out loud and say “I will do XYZ” that you do XYZ and do it because you desire to (not out of obligation). Obligation is appeasing, this is not self-empowerment nor does it help the person you’re doing the thing for because you aren’t doing it out of space of care and love.
And, that’s why this is such a great podcast episode!
Showing up is extremely essential and changes the game when you own a business, and is truly how you can really make an impact in this world and with others.
